Dazzling: Exhibition of Italian Expressive Arts in the Second Hall of the 20th Century

Dazzling: Exhibition of Italian Expressive Arts in the Second Hall of the 20th Century, was organized as part of the "Peers-2014 Art Museum Joint Exhibition" series, and was held at the China Art Palace, Shanghai, from August 1 to October 7, 2014. The international curator was Vincenzo Sanfo, an Italian curator and President of the Italian Culture and Art Center, with a long history of organizing cultural exchanges between Italy and China. This exhibition presented 117 paintings of Italian Expressive art of the late 20th century, focusing on the Italian avant-garde of the 1970s and 1980s, particularly Italian Neo-Expressionism, which was important in the European art world, with its fundamental emphasis on returning the painting to the easel. Although each painter in this genre presented different spiritual pursuits and artistic techniques, they enabled easel painting to experience an unprecedented splendid revival in the Italian art scene.
