2020 Online International Academic Forum of the National Museum of Liechtenstein: Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Liechtenstein

September 14, 2020 is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Liechtenstein. In order to commemorate this day and promote cultural exchanges between the two countries, the Liechtenstein National Museum held a special international academic forum. Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Shanghai International Cultural Exchange Association supported the postponement of the exhibition "The Room between Clouds and Waters”, originally scheduled for the Liechtenstein National Museum. One of the exhibition's series of activities, the forum “Yunshuijian · Li Lei: Poetry as the Cultural Form of Visual Art" was presented as a live Zoom conference online. The forum was hosted by Dr. Rainer Vollkommer, Director of the Liechtenstein National Museum, as the academic chair and keynote speaker. A total of 6 artists, critics and curators from Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria, New Zealand and China were invited to the forum. Scholars across three time zones, spoke to the creative practice of Chinese abstract artist Li Lei, jointly exploring the aesthetic and poetic experience of abstract art in a cross-cultural context.
